The Company
AKARPORT S.A, was founded in 2000 and is the company that manages and administers the port of NAVIPE Platygiali of Astakos. The strategic position of the port, located in the middle of Western Greece and a short distance from the Suez-Gibraltar axis, makes it an important node in the logistics hub of cargo flows between the countries of the European Union and the East, while at the same time it is also a link between the countries of the Adriatic, the Balkans and the Black Sea.

AKARPORT S.A manages and operates the only platform in Western Greece for the provision of integrated Logistics services. The company's core activity covers the areas of cargo management, transportation and storage services for all types of products.

Security of Port Facilities
On March 3, 2005, the port of NAVIPE Platygiali of Astakos, applying the security conditions for ship and port facilities based on the SOLAS XI -2 ISPS Code (Security of International Ship and Port Facilities), was certified by the Ministry of Merchant Shipping with an announcement to the international Maritime Organization (IMO) with registration No. 3732.3/69/2005
Port Control
There is a Port Control Tower with a clear field of vision both on land and in the port area.
24/7
The area is fully fenced, illuminated, monitored and patrolled on a 24-hour basis
Main Gate
The main gate is controlled by a monitoring system and electronic security devices.
Visitors
All staff and visitors are registered and have identification cards. All vehicles are inspected and registered.
Patrol Boats
The quayside and harbor area is constantly monitored by patrol boats.
